“Why Teach?”

Hello! My name is Cameron Rinando. I am currently 20 years old. I am currently a Sophomore at Texas State University. I am majoring in Elementary Education! I recently transferred to Texas State University from Lamar University. I have always wanted to be a teacher ever since I was a little girl. I have been motivated by several teachers who changed my life in the best way possible.

My previous teachers have inspired me to pursue my elementary education degree. My 10th-grade math teacher, Mrs. Howland, was an inspiration to me. She is one of the main reasons that I developed such a love for learning. She is also one of the reasons that I decided to pursue teaching as a career. Her teaching style was very personable, and she was very passionate about teaching her students. I hope I can create a classroom that encourages my students to have fun while still learning the same way that she was able to for her students.

I started volunteering at a daycare while I was a Junior in high school and that is when I knew that I have a passion for learning and inspiring children. I love to learn and I thrive in a learning environment. I would love to be a kindergarten teacher but I am completely open to any elementary school grade level. I like the creativity and independence that teaching offers.

I know that teaching is a hard job, but it is one where you can make the most impact in a child's life. I believe that teachers have the opportunity to completely change their student's lives for the better. I would love to be able to pass on the love and motivation that my teachers gave me to my future students. Overall I would love to be an Elementary school teacher because of the opportunity to profoundly impact the lives of children.
